Federation Square

One of the more interesting sections in the central business district in Melbourne, both visually and developmentally, is Federation Square. Much of it is modern architecture and it houses both cultural and tourist attractions. The Aboriginal Art museum was predominantly modern rather than more historical, so we will be taking a look at the Melbourne City Museum later this week to see if their collection runs a bit farther back.

Steph took some great photos with her camera and I will have her post a few of those later on this afternoon for you all.

Jay and Jen in Federation Square

While having a few drinks just south of this area, we all met a woman from California and her Australian husband. They had some great suggestions for what things we should see and do while here, and they invited us to dinner later on in the week. We are looking forward to getting together with them tonight in their area to the east of the city.
